Ponta Sahib, (Himacahal Pradesh): Arrested Tibetans-in-exile in Ponta Sahib said that they were determined to reach their homeland and complete their march to Tibet.
“We will follow the rules of the government after detention by the police. But, we will reach Tibet and fight for our independence,” Vice President of Tibetan Democratic Party Ashang Happa said on Saturday.
Police detained 270 exiles at Pithoragarh in Uttaranchal on Thursday.
Currently lodged in Ponta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh, they reiterated their determination to go to Tibet.
They had begun their journey on March 10 from Dharamsala, the seat of the Tibetan government-in-exile.
After days of peaceful march, the protesters were asked to return from where they started.
Protesters resented the move and were arrested.
The protesters were infuriated with nearly 85 days of peaceful march being revoked.
They had planned to arrive in Tibet to coincide with the Beijing Olympics Games, which begins in August.
Tibetan Diaspora all over the world were seeking an end to Chinese repression in Tibet and have staged a wave of protests across the world especially at Dharamsala, home of the Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama in India.

I am really moved by your strong determination for reaching Tibet at any cost. I am sure that yours wishes will come true soon and there will be freedom for Tibetan. I dont understand why the rest of Tibetan are staying idle. We,the rest of Tibetan should rise up together and support for their movement and put pressure on Indian govt, so that there will be some good result.
I’m so saddened by what’s happening in Tibet. To see Lhasa turned into a sort of Disneyland tourist trap breaks my heart. To see undercover footage of what’s really going on in Tibet, the real truth, will make a sane person lose their faith in humanity. Though deeply upset and disturbed by what’s going on and how convoluted it’s become, I support you in your March and pray for a safe journey. I can’t tell anyone else what to do or not do. I can say I have always felt that my integrity is more important than my body. Do what is necessary. China will not budge without a strong message. They are doing all they can to make it look to the world like Tibet has always been part of China. The amount of lies and distortions you find on the web alone are beyond comprehension.
Peace. Love Tibet! Free Tibet!
Every day we pry and act for the end of repression in Tibet, for respect of human rights in Tibet, in China and all over the world:13 city halls in Corsica, little island in south of France, have join the campaign for the Tibetan flag and had put it on the city hall or in their city, and more than 2000 corsica people have sign pétitions. All these petitions will be send at the end of june to our president of french republic. Our next gathering is on june 15th, in Porto-vecchio, to sustain all of you in your just aspiration for a cultural, spiritual and economic autonomy in the respect of the fundamental human rights in the land of Tibet.
