The marchers left the Gurdwara at 6am and walked 20 kilometers to Ghaziabad where they are resting in a building that is under construction. The marchers crossed into Uttar Pradesh (UP) State late morning. Throughout the day’s walk, Delhi Police and UP Police provided much appreciated traffic assistance.
Despite the soaring temperature, the marchers were very enthusiastic and in extremely high spirits as they marched homeward.

I am one of the 1.3 billion Chinese people. Skip the Tibet history dispute…I have to say I still can’t understand why you people took the Tibet issue to the Beijing Olympic Game. Your guys are not happy with the Chinese government, especially the Communist Party. I fully understand that. But the Olympic game belongs to the people all over the world, including the Chinese people. What do you think what would happen if the Beijing Olympic Game is boycotted? The Chinese government/ Communist party will suffer from it? NO! That would be the innocent majority of Chinese people. Why on earth we have to be punished for someone else’s wrong doing? When you talk about the human rights of the people in Tibet, please be fair, consider about the human rights of Chinese people as well.
It’s great to see that the Indian authorities are finally coming around and not worrying about “hurting China’s feelings”! The stamina displayed by the marchers is nothing short of extraordinary. Keep it up, my friends.
To our Chinese friends who disagree with us Tibetans using the Olympics to protest. First of all, one should speak out against injustice and brutality anywhere, anytime, whenever possible. As a Tibetan, as our brothers and sisters inside Tibet continue to be brutally killed and imprisoned for simply voicing their opinions, we living in free countries, must and will speak out against the atrocities committed by the Chinese government.
The Olympic torch is being used by Beijing to legitimize its occupation of Tibet (by taking the torch to tibet) and it is an attempt by the Chinese Communist Regime to show the world that everything is peaceful and harmonious in China, which in fact is not the case. The truth must be told and the olympics are the perfect opportunity to expose Beijing!
Tibet belongs to us Tibetans and we will never give up our right.
Peace, non-violent, negotiation and compassion have attracted millions of supporters for our just cause of freedom struggle and fundamental human rights. So, a peace march to Tibet, although seems very tedious and eternal will send a very powerful message to the world that we are determined to return to our homeland and we will do it at the cost of our life but always peacefully.
I hope that this peaceful march will gradually swell to a larger number and absorb consistent media attention until marchers reach home(TIBET). May God bless all of you marchers! Keep up your spirits high and remember that we are all behind you. And, please don’t listen to those Ne sayers. Keep going….
To “a chinese with doubt”:
China or I should be more clear by saying CCP is using olympic to forever remove what it calls “Tibet issue”! By what you ask? By showing off its economic power (which is built on sacrificing human values and environment, and promoting materialistic drive over everything)
Besides HOW THE HELL CAN ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND SEPARATE HUMAN RIGHTS FROM OLYMPIC ????
HOW????
It is common sense to know that core value of Olympic is in Protecting and Promoting Human Rights !!!!
I CHALLENGE ANYONE TO PROVE THIS WRONG !
So support Tibetan peoples just cause for freedom from tyranny of CCP and its Xinhua (or I call it total censorship) which contols/directs/regulates opinions of its peoples. Why not let the people decide what is right and what is wrong! Instead of STRICKLY biased and one sided news that shoves more and more lies down peoples throat to protect its own interest (CCP’s power over China)!
dear pao of tibet!
i salute u all fr ur this couragous act! ur step towards our homeland is going in a right direction n i regret tht i cud not join u becoz of my young son whom i cannot leave unattended! but then believe me i do hav tht burning desire to join ur hand in this struggle fr our country! so i m doing all i cud in my seat right now alerting my foreign friends abt our currnt situation n asking fr their support! so pliz march on as we all are alwaz behind you!long Live HHDL n Tibet will b free soon! BODGYALOOOOO!
Truly wish u all a safe journey!!!!!!!
A Chinese with Doubt. Don’t be in delimma. I will ask you one thing…. If you father dies recently, will you hold a party at your home. I don’t know about the Chinese brothers and sisters, but We Tibetan never do that. If China thinks Tibet is their younger brother like political area for them. They should not take the torch in Tibet atleast. If they still want the separation with Tibet. Then I have no idea. It depends on Hu, Wen and Jiang. Meanwhile, Olympic is just a coincidence and Chinese itself, planning to carry the torch to Tibet specially, where recent unrest spread over. What does that mean. Is that a sports and politics separate, China is playing in Tibet. I don’t think so. Take out your glass that is issued by Chinese Communist Party, we call it a brain wash. I feel pity on all the Chinese brothers that you are not allowed to speak on Tianenmen, Tibet, Taiwan. What is that democracy, where there is no freedom of expression. That does have nothing to do with separation. If China doesnot want to split Tibet from china, they should talk to Dalai Lama. Thats also a voice coming out of Tibet, sacrificing there life for these few words. Now who knows better democratic approach. Don’t ever spoil your principle and thought of sincerity.
All the best.
