The marchers volunteered to participate in the 24-hour fast relay organized by the Tibetan Solidarity Committee. They reached Jantar Mantar around 8:30am and started the fast at 9:00am.
Mr. Ajay Jadeja, former member of the Indian National Cricket Team, and his entire family visited Jantar Mantar. On behalf of his family, Mr. Jadeja expressed his solidarity with all the Tibetans and their peaceful struggle for freedom. He said that he wishes all the best for every one involved in the March to Tibet and hopes that all Tibetans will be able to go back to a free Tibet someday.
Mr. Tenpa Tsering, Tibetan Bureau Chief, New Delhi, also stopped by and showed his support to everyone holding the 24-hour fast.
Mr. Govind Acharya, one of the top leaders of Bhartia Janta Party (BJP) also came by and shared words of encouragement and told the marchers that he and his supporters will always back the Tibetan freedom struggle.
By the end of the day, even though many were hungry, they said that the pain of hunger was nothing compared to the suffering that Tibetans inside Tibet undergo on daily basis.
