On March 24th, the Speaker of the House of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, Karma Choephel, visited the March campsite outside Rupnagar, Punjab, to show support after the decision was taken to temporarily pause the March to Tibet, but continue to Delhi. The Speaker said, “You have taken such big decisions and given up everything for this March to Tibet and so we won’t let you down.” Choephel stopped by the march on his way to Europe to meet with the European Parliament, the Italian Parliament and to visit the United Nations in Geneva. He plans to present evidence about Chinese abuses in Tibet and to demand China to stop the killing and harsh crackdown in Tibet, to release all political prisoners, to provide medical treatment for Tibetan protesters, and to press for an international investigation of human rights abuses in Tibet.

After the encouraging words from the Speaker, the march continued on March 25th, with the marchers covering 28 kilometers before settling into camp in Dau Majra at 6:00pm.

Two local Indians, Sandeep Kumar and Ajay Sharma, donated almost 100 bottles of mineral water to support the March and spoke encouraging words to the marchers and requested everyone to never give up.
