After the Morning Prayer session, the marchers had the morning to rest and to wash their clothes. In the afternoon, the marchers left their camp at Kandpur, Una Disctrict, and walked approximately 16 kilometers to Dhusara, Una District. The marchers and supporters are all in good spirits, however they are concerned about the situation in Tibet. They have access to Radio Free Asia and national newspapers, but are without access to the internet.

One of the highlights of the day was running into a monk who has prostrated from Amdo, Tibet, to India. He left Amdo on February 3, 2005. The Core Marchers spent about 20 minutes with Ven. Zopa Namgyal and were very inspired by the level of commitment he has shown over the past years. In addition to meeting the monk, the marchers were joined today by four Tibetans from Nepal. The core marchers welcomed them into their midst and helped explain to them the rules and non-violent principles of the March.

Mr. Rajiv Vora, a Gandhian and Director of Non-Violence Peace Force Asia, Delhi, visited the camp again with his wife to show their support for the Tibetan people’s peaceful march. They spoke with many of the marchers and told them that they will be waiting for the marchers in Delhi.

Mr. Tsewang Rigzin, President of Tibetan Youth Congress, and Ven. Ngawang Woebar, President of GuChuSum, also visited the marchers to update them with news from Tibet. They told the marchers about the direct conversations that they had with Tibetans in Tibet via mobile phones, which boosted everyone’s morale. Mr. Tsewang Rigzin also sat down with our Western Support Marchers and to help them better understand the situation in Tibet.

The Marchers are planning on entering Punjab in the next few days with roughly 25 kilometers to go.
